17 Dec CDG Executive Vice President inducted into the P&CMA Hall of Fame
On Tuesday, December 10, 2019, CDG’s Executive Vice President, Robert Shepard, was inducted into the 2019 class of the Petroleum & Convenience Marketers of Alabama (P&CMA) Hall of Fame.
The P&CMA is a nonprofit trade association serving over 350 petroleum marketers and convenience store operators across the state of Alabama.
The association exists to preserve the private enterprise risk-reward system; to ensure a favorable competitive climate in the wholesale and retail distribution of petroleum products and to support the growth of the distribution system in Alabama through retail gasoline outlets and convenience stores; all to the end of better serving the citizens of Alabama.
Established in 2012, the P&CMA Hall of Fame recognizes those individuals who have demonstrated a lifetime of outstanding service to the Association, their local communities, and the petroleum marketing and convenience store industries in Alabama. Shepard, who has been on the P&CMA Associates Board since 1991, will be the youngest Hall of Fame member inducted in the history of P&CMA.
With a background in Cathodic Protection Service, UST design, and a Certification in Groundwater Remediation from Ohio State University, Shepard has led his CDG project teams through decades of successful projects. Over the years, he has designed underground storage tank fuel systems for the University of Alabama, Alabama Power Company, PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, Madison County Commission and numerous other sites for independent oil jobbers across the state of Alabama.
Shepard has also supervised and managed numerous Underground storage tank cleanups and environmental responses for petroleum spills. Through his hard work and determination, he has held the position of Vice President of CDG since 2004 and has made CDG the largest UST contractor in the state of Alabama.
The three members of the 2019 P&CMA Hall of Fame Induction Class were honored at the annual P&CMA Meeting and Hall of Fame Induction Banquet at the Marriott in Birmingham, Alabama.
Members and inductees enjoyed the annual meetings, holiday reception, silent auction, banquet dinner, and keynote speaker during the event.
