21 Apr CDG celebrates Earth Day with spring cleanup
More than 1 billion people participate in Earth Day activities each year as part of a worldwide effort to celebrate the environment and raise awareness about pollution.
In celebration of Earth Day this year, the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce took part in the environmental movement by hosting a Spring Clean-Up Day.
CDG employees (pictured above, left to right) Tally Carter, Summer Tidwell, T.J. Kelley, Jennifer McClung and Kendall Goldman joined Chamber members and other volunteers to pick up litter along the roads in Andalusia.
The group of about 20 volunteers picked up a couple of truckloads of trash along the road. Duffy said she hoped the event would be a catalyst to inspire others to help clean up and keep the environment clean.
The event was part of an effort by the Chamber to keep the environment clean for both residents and visitors.
“We want the people here to have a clean place to live, but it’s also about being aesthetically appealing,” Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Chrissie Duffy said. “Our traffic numbers are up, and we want to show off our assets, not our trash.”
