Glen’s Save-N-Shop

Higginbotham Oil Company, Inc.

Higginbotham Oil Company contracted with CDG to perform environmental corrective action activities at the former Glen’s Save-N-Shop facility in Clanton, Alabama. Based on the presence of contaminate concentrations above the allowable levels in soil and groundwater, CDG conducted in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) activities at the site. On August 22-25, 2016, mobilized to the site to conduct groundwater extraction and ISCO activities at the site.  During the injection activities, a total of 3,830 gallons of fluids were injected into 7 injection wells. These fluids consisted of water mixed with 200 gallons of hydrogen peroxide, 400 pounds of nutrients, 10 gallons of bacterial consortium, 150 pounds of sodium persulfate, and 20 pounds of ferrous sulfate.
