Mr. Drake has experience in geotechnical engineering and
construction materials acceptance testing since 1997.
He opened CDG's Dothan, Alabama, office in 2003.
His responsibilities include managing the Dothan office and
directing the geotechnical operations of the company.
Mr. Drake has provided geotechnical engineering and
materials testing services on a wide range of projects
including industrial developments, hospitals, bridges,
schools, large chain commercial projects, apartment
complexes, levee and runway projects for the U. S. Army
Corps of Engineers, and roadways. Additionally, he has
provided expert witness testimony for various
geotechnical-related cases. His geotechnical
experience includes the following:
- Design of
foundations including drilled shafts, pre-cast concrete
piles, steel H-piles, and mat foundations for industrial,
commercial and transportation applications.
- Identification and remediation of sinkholes.
- Stabilization and improvement of low-consistency and
expansive sub-grade soils.
- Reinforced soil embankments and retaining
structures.
- Structure distress evaluation and remediation.
- Underdrain collection and removal systems for
groundwater control.
Additionally, Mr. Drake provides senior engineering
oversight of the construction materials testing laboratory.
The laboratory maintains certifications with the Alabama
Department of Transportation, the U. S. Army Corps of
Engineers, and the American Association of State Highway and
Transportation Officials (AASHTO).
